Fresh from the Oven to your Door!

Flint River Ranch Super Premium All-Natural Formula is slowly TWICE OVEN BAKED
under carefully controlled conditions and proper temperatures.  This unique baking process
changes the hard-to-digest molecules of "raw" starches into easy-to-digest dextrin's.  This
process acts as a "pre-digest" of the kibble food, resulting in less strain on the dog's digestive
system and allows for a greater degree of food absorption.  A dog's intestinal tract is short; it
functions in the most efficient manner when the food is concentrated and can be quickly
digested.  The important vitamins, minerals and food ingredients can the be easily assimilated
into the dog's digestive system.

EXTRUSION vs. QUALITY OVEN BAKING:
Most companies prepare pet food by steaming it as quickly as possible, usually less than
3 minutes, then extruding it under extreme pressure through a metal die (steam extrusion
process).  This process expands the food with air creating a uniform shape.  This method
does not produce the highly digestible food that the baking process creates.  This
extruded food (cooked in a very short time) is usually almost "raw" and requires the
addition of what many nutritionists feel are harmful chemical preservatives
(Ethoxyquin,
BHA, BHT, and Propyl gallate)
to maintain a reasonable product shelf-life.  These
chemical products may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease,
poor health and
degenerative organ dysfunction.

Since Flint River Ranch foods are concentrated, there is more value with less food
consumed.  Feeding Flint River Ranch oven-baked foods will require 20-25% less food
than steam-extruded foods.  Pet owners will find less odor and stool clean-up.  By feeding
Flint River Ranch quality products, you will be able to see the difference in your pet's
health, skin, coat, energy level and quality life-style.

By-Products
Most other brands of pet food contain by-products like chicken feet, chicken heads, duck
heads, beaks, feathers, fish heads, hides, hoofs and intestines.  They usually also contain breakfast
food
by-products like, corn, cottonseed, corn cobs, citrus pulp, soy beans, fillers, nor do they
screening of other foreign materials such as noxious weeds, straw, hulls or chaff or the above
chemical preservatives.  The use of low quality products and chemical preservatives may be
associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health and degenerative organ
dysfunction.
Most dog and cat foods usually spray-on additives or greasy coatings to make the taste acceptable.
Ordinary foods are extruded under high pressure and extreme temperatures and then sprayed with
fat and other products in order to encourage dogs to eat.

What's in YOUR dogs food?
The Department of Pathology, Nagoya City University Medical School, Japan recently
completed a study to determine the toxicology of
BHA, BHT, Ethoxyquin, and Propyl
Gallate.

Ethoxyquin: Promoted kidney carcinogen sis.  Significantly increased incidence of
stomach tumors.  Enhanced bladder carcinogen sis.

BHA:  Enhanced stomach and urinary bladder carcinogen sis.  Causes squamous-cell
carcinomas in stomachs.  (Cancers of this type are among the most lethal and fastest
acting.

BHT:  Promoted urinary bladder carcinogen sis.  Could be a promoter of thyroid
carcinogen sis.

The study noted that
BHA and other antioxidants, particularly Propyl gallate and
Ethoxyquin, showed additional effects in inducing stomach hyperplasia and cytotoxicity.
According to Dr. Wendell Belfield, DVM, Practicing Veterinarian for some 26 years, both
BHA, and BHT are know to cause liver and kidney dysfunction and are banned in some
European countries.  He adds that
Ethoxyquin is suspected of causing cancer and that
Propylene Glycol (a pet food ingredient closely related to anti-freeze) causes destruction
of red blood cells.
Ethoxyquin is listed and identified as a hazardous chemical by OSHA.  The Department
of Agriculture lists
Ethoxyquin as a pesticide.

Beware several dog food
companies are now hiding the
fact these chemicals and other
sub-standard products are in
their dog foods. Several brands
simply don't list them on the
label as they buy the products
with these chemicals already  in
the fats.  Since they did not put
it there they don't have to list it
on the label.
